Paintings of the Rudolf Staechelin Family Trust (New York) return to Basel. The Trust and Fondation Beyeler have entered into a longterm lending agreement pursuant to which the 19 paintings of the trust will in the future periodicaily be exhibited at the Fondation Beyeler or in other museums in Switzerland or abroad.
These are paintings by Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Ferdinand Hodler, Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro and Auguste Renoir.
“I very much look forward to the return of the paintings to the Basel area”, says Ruedi Staechelin, one of the three trustees. “A friendship of many years liaises us to Ernst Beyeler and his high reputation museum”.
Sam Keller, the Director of Fondation Beyeler adds: “Fondation Beyeler is happy to contribute to the possibility to make paintings publicly available which generations of our citizens have become fond of. These paintings complement the collection of our museum and further the understanding of modern art.”
